About Us

Architecture that begins with people — and ends with spaces worth living in.

We design spaces
that make life feel right.

mrzdesign is an architectural design practice built on the belief that great design isn't a luxury — it's what happens when someone actually listens.

It started with a frustration. After years working inside large firms, watching projects lose their soul somewhere between the first client meeting and the final blueprint, our founder Marz kept asking the same question: why does the person who has to live in this space end up with the least say?

The answer, it turned out, was structure. Big studios optimize for scale. Processes become more important than people. So in 2001, Marz left to build something smaller — a practice where every client gets direct access to the designer, every project gets genuine thought, and no brief gets handed off to a junior without a proper handshake.

mrzdesign exists because good architecture should feel personal. Because your home, your studio, your workspace — these aren't just buildings. They're the backdrop to your actual life. They deserve better than a template.

Our Mission

To design spaces that are honest, human, and built to last — where every decision has a reason and every room has a soul.

I

Clarity over complexity

We resist the urge to make things clever when simple would serve you better — beauty comes from decisions made with purpose, not decoration added for effect.

II

Honesty in every conversation

We'd rather tell you something is out of budget or off-brief early than let you discover it after the foundations are poured.

III

Craft that outlasts trends

We design for how a space will feel in ten years, not how it photographs today — materials, proportions, and light that age with dignity.

You work with Marz, not a team of strangers

Most studios assign an account manager once you sign. Here, the person who sat across from you in the first meeting is the person designing your space — from sketch to sign-off.

We ask uncomfortable questions early

How do you actually use this space? What do you hate about where you live now? What did your last architect get wrong? These questions shape better buildings. We ask them before we pick up a pencil.

No portfolio-chasing

We don't design to win awards or fill a lookbook. We design to give you a space that works — and occasionally, those two things happen to overlap.

Small by design

We take on a limited number of projects at a time. Intentionally. Because every project deserves full attention — not to be squeezed between two bigger commissions.

Ready when
you are.

Starting a project can feel overwhelming — especially when you're not sure what you need yet. That's fine. Most of our best conversations begin with "I don't really know where to start."

There's no sales pitch here. No pressure, no jargon, no hidden process. Just an honest conversation about your space and whether we're the right fit to help you with it.
